Product Description

A solvent-based enamel formulated to perform as a tough barrier against rust caused by humidity and moisture. It was specially formulated to perform as primer,\r\nundercoat and topcoat in one. Its Dualtech™ technology provides two-way protection by repelling water and also stopping rust, to keep ferrous and non-ferrous metals protected for longer. Available in a Hammered Finish or a Smooth Finish. Standard colours are available in Smooth and Hammered appearance and matched to in-house colour standards and are not matched to BS 4800 or RAL standards.

Tips & Advice

1. Preparing the Surfaces

Abrade smooth surfaces and remove all loose rust and flaking paint with a wire brush. Remove dirt, dust and grease with diluted detergent.Remove grease with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners. Then rinse with clean water and allow time to dry.Spray a test patch of Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint onto painted surfaces and leave for at least 1 hour. If there is no reaction apply Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint directly to surface. If there is a reaction remove all paint from the surface. On bare zinc, aluminium and galvanised surfaces; apply Hammerite Special Metals Primer before applying Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint.
